Jean Penny is a highly active Melbourne flautist.She has worked extensively with many of Australiašs major orchestras, including the Melbourne Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony and Orchestra Victoria. She has made numerous recordings and has regularly appeared as soloist and chamber musician in concerts and festivals in Australia and Europe, including performances in Hungary, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Holland and Slovenia.
She is an examiner of flute for the Australian Music Examinations Board, adjudicates, presents workshops, organizes music festivals and has a large teaching schedule
This year she was invited to perform Australian music in Europe at the Fourth Slovenian Flute Convention, and presented concerts in northern Italy. She also performed contemporary music at the Australian Flute Festival held in Melbourne in March this year.
